Fire Case in Central Jakarta Mostly Caused by Short Circuit

Fire case in Central Jakarta last year were mostly caused by short circuit.

139 of them were cause by short circuit

Central Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-agency's Fire Handling and Rescue Section Head, Ahmad Syaiful, explained of 256 cases last year, 139 of them were cause by short circuit, 40 cases caused by gas leaking, four cases caused by candle, 15 cases caused by waste burning, and 15 cases caused by cigarette.

"Other 44 cases were caused by many factors," he explained, Thursday (1/25).

He added that of the total incidents, eight fatalities and 22 injuries were recorded. Meanwhile, based on location, there were 71 fire incidents in residential buildings, 39 in public and commercial buildings and seven motor vehicle incidents.

Then there were 32 incidents at installations outside buildings, 13 plant locations, one stall, 15 trash locations and 78 at other incident locations.

Based on time incident, September were 34 cases, October were 33 cases, April 28 cases, August 27 cases, June 22 cases, July 22 cases.

Meanwhile, Sub-agency head, Asril Rizal, appealed to residents not to reduce their vigilance even though the rainy season has come.

He also reminded residents to remove the electrical plug when not in use, avoid stacking electrical plugs, and use electrical equipment according to standards.
